Parties were on every corner, people filled with joy and excitement, and Jester was so thrilled that Nott ignored the warning in the back of her head and joined the group. They’d went into the town because of the local holiday. Which was nice, if not the best feeling she’d ever had in her new life, except that she’d forgotten not everyone felt this way. But with her group- a half-orc with no tusks, a flashy teifling, a blur of energy that loved pastries, a fire wizard, and two angry ladies ready to fight anyone in their way- it became easier to push past, to laugh with the other weirdos and not feel like a freak. Little greedy goblins weren’t exactly hard to forget. No, she hadn’t gotten stupid in her time with the Mighty Nein. She was many things, he explained patiently as she settled into his lap, but she was more than she ever gave herself credit for. In fact, Caleb would probably get upset and lecture her on how she wasn’t stupid if he heard her. Even as she said it, Nott knew that wasn’t the right word. ![]()
